Mountain Climbing
9 Days 8 Nights
1 One

The Umbwe Route is the most direct, steepest, and most dramatic route on Mount Kilimanjaro, designed for experienced trekkers and adventure seekers looking for a true mountain challenge. At Kishapui Africa Adventures, we offer this 6-day Umbwe Route climb for those who desire solitude, raw wilderness, and an intense ascent through some of Kilimanjaro’s most striking landscapes.
Starting from the southern side of the mountain, the Umbwe Route ascends rapidly through dense rainforest, narrow ridges, and high alpine terrain before joining the Machame Route at Barranco Camp. Though demanding, this route rewards climbers with breathtaking scenery, fewer crowds, and a deep sense of accomplishment. With expert guides, careful pacing, and safety-focused acclimatization, this expedition leads you to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa and the ultimate triumph.

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by the Kishapui Africa Adventures team and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Relax after your journey or explore the town before attending a comprehensive pre-climb briefing and gear check with your mountain guide.
